Christmas Carol – join the Friends of the Arts on Friday, December 6th for this annual family favorite performed at Theater Three in Port Jefferson. Barnaby Saves Christmas - join the Friends of the Arts on Saturday, December 14th for this annual family favorite for the eight and under crowd performed at Theater Three in Port Jefferson. Your ticket gives you access to lite fare and beverages (and coffee for the parents!) beginning at 10am in the private downstairs room and of course the adorable play beginning at 11:00am.  We’ll have Disney pins available for purchase and trading opportunities if you bring your pins to trade with others.  Save this date: Barnaby Saves Christmas - join the Friends of the Arts on Saturday, December 14th

The Friends of the Arts presents the Holiday Boutique

Christmas and Hanukkah Gifts are available for siblings, parents, grandparents and pets. Elementary School students will attend the boutique along with classmates. Middle School students can shop during lunch hours Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday December 3rd, 4th or 5th. Please make checks payable to the Friends of the Arts.

Funds raised will help to enhance the art, music and theater programs in the Mount Sinai School District. Thank you in advance for your support! 

Fairytale Courtroom

The High School Drama club is putting on a production of Fairytale Courtroom tonight at 7pm. It should be a great show! Tickets are $10 and are available at the door.

Holidays already???

We know, we can't believe it's that time of year, either!  But the craft fair is right around the corner, and you know what that means - time to start planning for the holidays!  The FOA will have a booth at the craft fair and will be selling grab bags of Disney Pins.  Prices are 2 pins for $5 or 10 pins for $20 (that's like 2 free!)  We have a fantastic variety of standard and hidden mickey pins, and you might even get lucky and get a limited edition or cast lanyard pin.  Plan ahead for the holidays or your next WDW vacation!  See you on November 23rd!

Also coming up is the Friends of the Arts Annual Holiday Boutique on Tuesday through Thursday, December 3rd - 5th.  Elementary students will be schedule to attend the boutique with their classmates.  Middle School students can shop on their lunch hour.  Christmas and Chanukah gifts are available for siblings, parents, grandparents and pets.  If you are sending a check with your child, please ensure it is made payable to Mount Sinai Friends of the Arts.

As always, funds raised from these events will help to enhance the art, music, and theater programs in Mount Sinai!

Meet the Teacher Night

Please join us on October 10th for our annual Meet the Teacher Night at 7pm in the Middle School Library, where Steve Mantone and the music and arts teachers will be assembled to talk about their plans for the upcoming year and answer any questions you may have.  Light refreshments will be provided, and children are welcome. If you cannot attend the meeting but would like to submit a question to be answered, please leave a comment below.  We will be posting a recap of the event  afterwards.

Disney Pin Trading Party

Our first pin trading party of the year will be held Friday, October 18th in the Middle School Library from 4-6pm.  Buy and trade pins, win prizes, and munch on some Disney themed treats.  Can't make it but need to buy pins before your vacation?  We've got you covered!  Just fill out the contact form to the right.

Student Performances

MS Variety Show – A great chance to see some of the talented students in our Middle School perform on the HS stage on Friday, January 10, 2014.  Come out and support family and friends at this fun-filled event. (add date from calendar)

An Evening Out

Art Auction – If you attended this event last year, you know to mark your calendar for this year’s auction on Friday, June 6th, 2014.  Once again we will be at the Willow Creek Country Club for an evening of wonderful live music, fabulous food and art for every taste.   (add date from calendar).

Where do your donations go?

From time to time , we will spotlight some of the programs and acquisitions that your generations donations make possible.  For example, on behalf of all who have made contributions in the last year, the Friends of the Arts has purchased four Electronic Boards for the Elementary School Art and Music Department.  Use of the boards in the classrooms will help the teachers to better convey important learning points, share work with the class and leverage the web to enhance the art and music lessons.

Welcome to the new website for the Mount Sinai Friends of the Arts!  We are looking forward to another great year supporting the Music, Theatre, and Arts programs for our children!  Don't forget to sign up for the current year membership by either clicking the link to your right or by filling out a form at Back to School Night!  Be sure to update your email information when you do.

We have a lot of great fundraisers planned for this year, and will be returning with your favorites from previous years, such as flowers and chocolate roses at concerts and shows.  If you would like a large order of roses for a particular event, please email us ahead of time and let us know so we can customize your order and have it waiting for you!
